Citylocs was founded by a Husband and Wife team: Miguel and Christina Espinoza; two creative types with artistic backgrounds, and an eye for what is stylish and cool. A Note From Our Founders: We grew up in Southern California immersed in Hip Hop and Urban culture where individual style and creativity thrive. We too had a knack for being creative and sought an outlet for our self-expression. When we first started out we didn't know exactly what we were going to do. But we had a dream of owning our own business. n 2003 we started our personalization side business; working during the week and setting up at swap meets on the weekend. We had bills to pay, and sometimes it was scary, but we never gave up as a couple, never gave up on our dream, and never gave up on our brand. For a few years we grinded on the Car Show and Festival circuits engraving dog tags with people's pictures. Once establishing ourselves, we opened up a shop in late 2005. After investing in new equipment, we started experimenting with bringing new products to the market. That's when Christina had the great idea of engraving sunglasses, a.k.a. Locs. After months of trial-and-error, we finally figured out the right formula and started putting our Locs on eBay. Our early Locs were engraved with 'Los Angeles', 'Compton', and 'Eazy' on the sides in Old English font. They started selling like crazy on eBay, and in 2006 CityLocs was born! At that time, as well as today, we worked late nights to invest in our dream. And because of our investment, endurance, and faith, our business grew. Once we started selling wholesale, we continued to grow in leaps and bounds. Ten years ago we never thought we would be where we are today. We had humble beginnings, but even when it got hard we never gave up. There were really tough times but we stayed strong as a family, worked really hard; sometimes with little or no reward, but we had this dream and we had fun making it a reality. Despite the struggle being real, we never lost sight of our dream that we shared as a family and now are fortunate to share with you. None of this would be possible without you, our customer.
